The Pulse Cardiac Imaging team, in partnership with MultiCare Imaging, has launched a Pulse-led cardiac computed tomography (CT) program in Olympia.
The Olympia Cardiac CT team completed CTs of fourteen patients in just two days as part of their tech training program, with oversight by cardiologist Ahmad Slim, MD.
Cardiac CT is a medical imaging technique that uses x-rays to create detailed cross-sectional views of the heart and coronary arteries. This minimally invasive exam can help diagnose conditions such as coronary artery disease, congenital anomalies and heart defects. It can also aid in the evaluation of heart function, identify plaque buildup and assess the severity of coronary artery stenosis.
Thank you to Capital Medical Center Imaging Manager Bart Thompson, Director of Pulse Imaging Services Andrew Smith, Dr. Sabrina Shaheen and the Olympia imaging team for their work to bring this critical diagnostic service to the Olympia community.
