PSR Heart Rhythm team first in state to implant WiSE® System

Pulse INW EP Device team receives the Murj 2026 Cardiovascular Achievement and Recognition of Excellence (CARE) Award 2

On July 1, the Pulse Heart Institute Heart Rhythm Team at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital became the first in Washington state to implant the WiSE® System, the only FDA-approved leadless left ventricular endocardial pacing (LVEP) system.

Heart rhythm specialist Dr. Tariq Salam and the Pulse team of heart rhythm professionals successfully performed the hospital’s first WiSE implant, bringing an innovative treatment option to heart failure patients who are unable to receive or have not benefited from conventional cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).

The WiSE System represents a significant advancement in cardiac pacing technology. By delivering leadless pacing directly to the inside of the left ventricle, it more closely mimics the heart’s natural electrical activation and expands options for appropriately selected patients with heart failure.

With more than six million Americans living with heart failure, innovations like the WiSE System have the potential to improve outcomes, enhance quality of life, and increase access to advanced therapies.

Congratulations to Dr. Salam and the entire Pulse Heart Institute Electrophysiology Team on this important milestone and their ongoing commitment to bringing leading-edge care to patients across Washington.
