About Our Program

Our mission is to provide cardiac care so you can perform at your best while staying safe and healthy.

Our Sports Cardiology program, located at the Pulse Heart Institute, is the first in Spokane, Washington, – Hooptown, USA – and is one of only a few like it in the United States. We collaborate with the sports medicine programs to ensure you can perform your best while staying safe and healthy.

Our team will keep our athletes and patients safe and active by incorporating  the following:

  • Determining sports eligibility through preparticipation cardiac assessment
  • Assisting with return-to-play decision making
  • Evaluating potential cardiac symptoms
  • Managing athletes who have a confirmed cardiac diagnosis
  • Providing preventive cardiac care and evaluation of active individuals

Our Team

Our team, led by Adam Noyes, MD, Medical Director of Sports Cardiology, includes specialized cardiologists at the Pulse Heart Institute in the field of electrophysiology and structural heart disease.

Adam Noyes, MD, FACC, is a sports cardiologist and director of the Sports Cardiology division at the Pulse Heart Institute in Spokane, Washington. Dr. Noyes created the first sports cardiology program in Spokane, Washington, and the Inland Northwest. Dr. Noyes is the team cardiologist for local colleges and universities including Gonzaga University and Eastern Washington University. He has participated as an advisor for the sports medicine and pediatrics in the Spokane County Public Schools.

His research has been published in multiple medical journals and has co-authored educational content for the American College of Cardiology.

Aside from practicing sports cardiology, his clinical areas of expertise include the field of advanced echocardiography and structural echocardiography, and is the medical director of the cardiac imaging departments. Aside from medicine, Dr. Noyes enjoys spending his free time downhill skiing, exercising and training and traveling with his wife and two kids, friends and family.

Sports cardiology is the care of athletes and active individuals with known or previously undiagnosed cardiovascular conditions. It integrates a multidisciplinary team within cardiology, such as cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, structural heart disease and exercise physiology.

Our team consists of experts in cardiology and sports medicine. We have access to the latest diagnostic tools and heart treatments, as well as robust support services for athletes of all ages and levels. From weekend warriors to professional athletes, we provide comprehensive cardiovascular care, physiologic testing using a customized approach to diagnose any potential health problems and develop a treatment plan that keeps you safe while maintaining an active lifestyle. This allows you to perform your best while staying safe and healthy.

Who We Serve

Pulse offers sports cardiology services to adult athletes of all levels. You must be at least 18 years old to qualify for these services through Pulse.

We serve athletes at local universities (Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University) and weekend warriors alike.
