Capital Vascular Complete First in Washington Inari LimFlow Case

The Pulse Vascular Team at Capital Medical Center completed a first in state case on October 24. The case – a Transcatheter Arterialization of Deep Vein (TADV) with LimFlow – was led by Vascular Surgeon Dr. Tazo Inui. Dr. Inui and team restored blood flow to a patient’s foot, helping him to avoid amputation.

In some patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD), as the disease progresses the patient’s options become limited. In some instances, they are faced with amputation, which has poor prognosis without drastic lifestyle changes. The LimFlow System is designed to bypass blocked arteries in the leg and revascularize the leg or foot, saving the limb. The procedure essentially turns the veins in the foot into an artery to restore blood flow.

This is the first use of the LimFlow device, which is FDA approved for no option limb ischemia, in Washington state. Total case time was less than two hours and twenty minutes and was a success.

Congratulations to the CMC Vascular Team on this life-changing, first in state case.
