Pulse opens new hybrid surgical suite at Deaconess Hospital

Capital Vascular Complete First in Washington Inari LimFlow Case 1

MultiCare and Pulse Heart Institute opened a new hybrid endovascular surgery suite, located at Deaconess Hospital.

Vascular surgeons Dr. Chris Ward and Dr. Jaideep Das Gupta partnered on a complex endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) as one of the inaugural cases. Utilizing the 3D construction technology to navigate the aorta and to access the renal arteries, this complicated case was completed in just three hours, using minimal contrast and x-ray – which is safer for both the patient and the surgical team. A case such as this would typically require a long open surgery, but the new hybrid suite allowed the team to care for this patient effectively and efficiently in much less time.

This hybrid suite combines the best features of an operating room and a cardiac catheterization room, allowing for flexibility and adaptability during procedures. It has the most advanced state-of-the-art imaging equipment in the Pacific Northwest, allowing Pulse physicians to offer their patients the latest in minimally invasive options for the treatment of cardiac and vascular disease.

Combining the clearest pictures available, advanced three-dimensional planning software, and the utmost safety and sterility, the hybrid suite allows Pulse physicians to provide optimal, individualized care for a range of heart and vascular conditions.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the work that brought this hybrid suite to Deaconess, enabling Pulse to provide the best care to our patients in the INW region.
